The Tirana Edition of the Diaspora Economic Forum (DEF) was held on May 27 in the residence of Her Excellency Swiss Ambassador Ruth Huber, in close cooperation with the Swiss Embassy in Albania. The goal of the gathering was to present the mission of DEF and to announce early details about the main event taking place in Bern, Switzerland on April 16–17, 2026.
In an intimate and impactful setting, the event brought together business leaders, civil society representatives, diplomats, media, and the non-profit sector to exchange ideas and shape future initiatives. The hosts highlighted the enormous economic and social potential of the Albanian diaspora – not only as a success story abroad, but as a strategic force for development, innovation, and cross-border cooperation.
The 2026 Main Forum in Bern will serve as a major international platform under the theme:
